MITTE. This large television tower, adjacent to Alexanderplatz, stands as a beacon for the city. The tower is taller than the Eiffel Tower and offers expansive views of the city below.

CHARLOTTENBURG ­ WILMERSDORF. Ultra-sleek and very Euro, this large center in Charlottenburg is a perfect spot for shopping and people-watching. Completed in the early '60s, it was intended to be the commercial heart and soul of West Berlin, and indeed it was - and still is! Bars, coffee shops, and about 100 stores spread across three, atrium-style floors. In addition, unique features like the Clock of Floating Time, Lotus-Fountain, and even fragments of the Berlin Wall have become tourist attractions almost as popular as the mall itself. CHARLOTTENBURG ­ WILMERSDORF. This historic broadcast tower was built in the early 1900s and offers impressive views of the forest at Grunewald and the western sector of the city. The viewing platform stands at 413 feet, and on-site dining is available in the center of the tower.
